Douglas House History
Welcome to Douglas House, named after this property's previous owner, Murray Douglas. Mrs. Douglas served as the Vice Chair of the famous Brunschwig & Fils French textile house. If you want curtains for the Oval Office or wallpaper for the White House's Blue Room, call the venerable fabric house, Brunschwig & Fils.
But if you want wonderful tales about decorating, sit down with Murray Douglas, Brunschwig's tastemaker for the last 50 years and co-author of the decorating book "Brunschwig & Fils Up Close"
The various rooms in this structure are named after prominent members of the Douglas family and the guest rooms are decorated with fabric that is manufactured by Brunschwig & Fils as a nod the rich history of this property.
The album on this page was an interview with Mrs. Douglas in Island Oasis Magazine while she was living at the property.
